Many a child has been told good boys go to heaven. The harder I tried, the less good I was. I enjoyed conflict, the wild side of life. When my child was born, I turned to God. I learned it is not what I do that changes me. It is who I know that changes me.
What is going on in the world a fulfillment of last day events. There is a shift happening from political to religious politics.
We all have plans for our future. If I die before all our plans come fruition, the next person I will see is Jesus.
How can we be assured of eternal life in church?
People in church have not always been assured of eternal life. Today, more church going people would say yes, but many are still not assured. Church goers tended to think they were not good enough to be accepted by Jesus. The battle of souls is real.
Can you be 100% assured of salvation? Yes?
I recall driving my car 30 years ago and using my bog car phone. I arrived at the office for a meeting. This meeting resulted in years of work with Australian people. I found myself over time using their sayings lie "no worries", "mate", etc.
If I have a relationship with Christ then I do not need to worry.
In 1990, the Seventh-day Adventist church did a 10 year study of young people in the Seventh-day Adventists. The fourth version is just completed. It did surveys at families, school and church. One question was related to trends in youth's assurance of salvation. In 1990 28% said yes. 2000 in Europe was 40%. In other countries in 2010 it was 45%, 2023 50%., in North America 72% said no.
Social media's influence tends to destroy young people's assurance in everlasting life. Yet there is progress.
